PRODUCTION MANAGER (Posted May 13, 2008)
The Longy School of Music seeks an enthusiastic and motivated professional who can oversee all production and technical aspects of Longy’s concerts and events. This position is full-time, requires some evening and weekend hours, and reports to the Manager of Concert Services and Special Events.
Successful applicants will have significant stage management and production experience, working knowledge of PA/audio and lighting systems, and will have acted in managerial and supervisory roles.

Job Description The Development Database Manager ensures the effective operation of development information systems and databases including biographical and gift records, campaign reporting, data quality, and security and audit functions within the database. S/he is responsible for the on-going management and coordination of the department’s information-related needs, and serves as a liaison with Director of Information Technology (& MIS Consultants) with regard to networks, hardware and software used by the IA Office.
Position Details
Gift Processing
Ensures accurate and timely entering of all gifts of cash, stocks and pledges.
Sets up new campaigns, funds, and appeals as necessary.
Works closely with Fiscal Department to reconcile gifts, reports, and audit assistance.
Daily batches of gift reports and gift acknowledgements.
Sets up templates for gift acknowledgement letters.
Works closely with Operations Manager and Annual Fund Director to ensure all letters are appropriately acknowledged
Database Management & Report Writing
Serves as point person for Raiser’s Edge, the IA department’s donor database software, including:
Writing, testing and maintaining standard campaign donor, prospect and activity reports.
Developing queries and reports as requested by IA staff, such as monthly updates, annual giving, prospect tracking and statistical reports.
Developing training materials for new staff and conduct Raiser’s Edge training for staff.
Establishing and maintaining systems for proper coding of gifts, constituent types, attributes, and other Raiser’s Edge screens and fields and ensuring quality of donor data.
As needed, interfacing Raiser’s Edge with other software programs such as Microsoft Access, Word and Excel.
Information Systems
Perform network administrator role including:
a. Executing all server-based work including rights, security, user profiles, mapping and network printer management
b. Ensuring dependable backup/restore process
c. Troubleshooting hardware and software problems
d. Working closely with institution and vendor information services staff to resolve problems
e. Performing regular systems analysis, anticipating security and other potential problems and proposes solutions.
Serve as liaison between IA and Director of Information Technology to ensure IA needs are appropriately met. This includes:
a. Coordinating installation and upgrading of software and hardware, as appropriate
b. Proposing and justifying new purchases of equipment and software, and other related needs.
Co-Manage Constant Contact with Communications Staff for:
Uploading RE Info and Concert Attendee Emails to CC
Monitor Spam reports & Setting up parameters for Email blasts.
General updates to existing contacts
Report statistics to IA staff
Monitor and Process all gifts coming through linked website “Network For Good”
Work with consultant(s) as appropriate, and establish and maintain relationships with vendor or field service representatives hired to perform a wide range of specific information systems tasks or assignments.
II General Responsibilities
1. Participate in the preparation of an annual operating plan for the division, which includes a complete review of the year’s activities and goals.
2. Work as necessary to successfully meet established goals and objectives.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

3-5 years of related experience, with a track record of growth and progressive levels of responsibility, preferably with gift administration or financial accounting responsibilities. •Strong foundation of systems information and computer analysis skills. Raisers Edge and Crystal Reporting experience is strongly preferred.

The Longy School of Music seeks a Director of Admissions and Student Services, a full-time position reporting to the Dean of the Conservatory. The Director will manage all aspects of recruitment and admissions for Longy’s Conservatory, with a student body of approximately 225 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees and diplomas in ten departments, and provide supervision for a growing array of non-academic student services.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
representing Longy to prospective students and their mentors
developing an applicant pool of appropriate size and quality for an incoming class of approximately 80 students per year
working effectively with department and program chairs to develop and implement recruiting strategies
organizing auditions, interviewing applicants, evaluating credentials, and generating correspondence
collaborating with the Institutional Advancement office to coordinate career service workshops for alumni
collaborating with the Director of Communications to coordinate recruitment efforts through various media
maintaining enrollment and scholarship data
overseeing student services (which include student government, student activities, on-campus employment; career services, student health insurance and immunization records, and housing services)
coordinating new student orientation with the other members of Academic Affairs staff
traveling to appropriate recruiting events
In addition, the Director manages the admissions operations budget and supervises the Admissions and Student Services Assistant and student workers. The Director is also a member of the international student advising team and will establish and maintain records for new international students, using the SEVIS system.
QUALIFICATIONS Qualified candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in collegiate or conservatory admissions and be fully conversant in the tools of effective admissions and recruitment, including marketing and promotion, information technology, and financial aid. Experience in student services and with international student regulations is desirable. Individuals with advanced musical credentials or equivalent musical experience strongly preferred.

This is a half-time position, providing administrative support to the Institutional Advancement office. Some job responsibilities require work outside of normal business hours. The position reports to the Institutional Advancement Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Special Events Support

This full-time Senior Staff position at The Longy School of Music will oversee the organization’s community programs, which includes our Preparatory and Continuing Studies programs. The Preparatory Program includes the Young Performers Program, which is a pre-college track for high school age musicians who are aspiring musicians. This role will strategically organize the courses and programs in the community so that they serve the needs of our neighbors while also fulfilling our mission of preparing musicians to make a difference in the world. The Director of Community Programs will need to create a financially healthy department that raises the school’s local profile and connects strategically with key external constituents.

SUZUKI VIOLIN TEACHER (PART TIME) (Posted December 7, 2007)
DUTIES
Teach weekly private and group lessons. Participation in varied school activities, concerts and meetings. Take over an existing studio of approximately 10 students. Academic year consists of two 15-week terms and a 9-week summer term. This offering is exclusively for Suzuki violin position; no traditional teaching will be associated with this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to Suzuki pedagogy.
SAA registered teacher training through Book 3 and a commitment to continued teacher training.
