Make-up Policy for Private Lessons
Longy allows only one make-up lesson per semester due to the student’s absence: 24-hour notice must be given to the instructor, or, in the case of an evening lesson, must call by 5:00 PM the previous day. Additional missed lessons will not be made up, and no refund will be given. If the teacher cancels a lesson, the lesson will be made up.
Course Cancellation
Longy reserves the right to cancel classes at any time. Students enrolled in a class canceled by Longy will receive a full refund, including the registration fee. If a class is canceled, registered students will be notified by phone and/or e-mail.
Financial Aid for Preparatory Students
Financial assistance for Preparatory students is awarded annually and is based on an individual’s financial need, musical accomplishment, and dedication to musical studies. Financial aid application forms and complete information may be obtained by calling the Community Programs Office, 617.876.0956 x 1650 or going on-line at www.longy.edu. All applications are reviewed by a Financial Aid Committee. Aid is very limited, and full tuition is not awarded. Financial aid applications will be available online after April 15. All students currently receiving financial aid must reapply each year. Application deadline is June 1, 2012. Late applications are accepted but funds are not guaranteed.
Longy does not provide financial aid for Continuing Studies students or for summer study.
