MASTER CLASS WITH CHRISTOPHER ELTON
Christopher Elton was born in Edinburgh and received most of his musical education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he achieved the unusual distinction of gaining the Academy’s highest performing award – the Dip.RAM – on both piano and ‘cello. In recent years, he has given recitals in the UK, USA, Ireland, Spain, Australia, and Vietnam. Mr. Elton is currently Head of Keyboard at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he was elected a Fellow in 1983. In 2002, the title of Professor of the University of London was conferred on him.

MASTER CLASS WITH IL FONDAMENTO
Brussels based Il Fondamento perform across Europe, including all the major festivals, where they are celebrated as one of the leading specialists in historical performance practice of early music on period instruments. They are particularly praised for not only their interpretations of the more familiar Baroque pieces, but also for combining them with unpublished and unknown works that artistic director Paul Dombrecht has unearthed during his ceaseless researches. Through their performances and concerts, many fascinating works have been heard for the first time since the time of their composition.

VOICES OF THE MULTITUDE: A READING/PLAYING
Peter J. Evans of the Modern American Music and Composition and Theory Departments will read his paper on Hildegard von Bingen entitled "Vox Multitudinis of Ordo Virtutum: Inciptis, Modes, Structures, Extrapolations," a paper to be read at both the 43 International Congress on Medieval Studies and the 25th session of the International Society of Hildegard von Bingen Studies in May of 2008. 
Following the paper, Evans, invited guests Jeff Claassen (Dean College, faculty) and Michael Gardiner (NEC) and students from the MAM department will sonically explore further 'voices of the multitude' extrapolated from Hildegard's masterwork.
