Longy's highest performance credential, the Artist Diploma, is awarded to exceptionally gifted performers who exhibit outstanding promise for a professional career in music. In addition to aspiring solo and orchestral musicians, the program serves established chamber ensembles wishing to study and perform in preparation for a full professional debut. At the time of application, Artist Diploma candidates must possess clarity and maturity of artistic expression, previous professional-level experience, and the motivation to pursue actively a vocation on the concert stage. Artist Diploma studies center on individual instruction with Longy's artist-teachers. The single schoolwide requirement for Artist Diploma candidates is Experiential Education (2 semesters, 1 credit per semester). Two full-length recitals required.

Major Areas: Chamber Music, Collaborative Piano, Early Music, Organ, Piano, Strings, Voice, and Woodwinds and Brass.

Level: Advanced Graduate (conservatory diploma, bachelor's degree, or demonstrated equivalent required).

Normal Program Length and Credits: 2 years, 22 credits required for graduation.
