Open House, ‘Instrument Petting Zoo’ and Family Series Concert Sunday, Feb. 7, Among Highlights of Longy’s Winter Lineup
Cambridge, MA – If you or your children are thinking of taking a music lesson or want to learn about the instruments that make up an orchestra, mark your calendar for Sunday, Feb. 7. That’s when Longy’s Community Programs division will hold a free Open House and “Instrument Petting Zoo” – a hands-on opportunity to get acquainted with musical instruments – from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. Longy will hold its popular Family Series concert, “Introduction to the Orchestra.”
See below for details on these and other concerts and events scheduled this winter at Longy. From a Jan. 25 performance by the Grammy-winning Pacifica Quartet, the launch of a new Alumni Voices concert series on Jan. 30, and a Longy Conservatory Orchestra concert the evening of Feb. 7, there are plenty of musical offerings at Longy to keep you warm at heart during the New England winter. All concerts take place at Longy’s Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall, 27 Garden Street, Cambridge (Harvard Square) unless otherwise noted. Many are free. For a complete schedule, more details and updates, see Longy’s online concert calendar.
