LONGY AT THE REGATTABAR
“Games & Gershwin”
April 29, 2010
From Kurtág’s “Signs, Games and Messages” played by violist Dimitri Murrath to Gershwin's “Three Preludes” for piano performed on cello by Ying-Jun Wei with pianist Diane Lim, Longy’s world-class artists brought bright virtuosity on April 29, 2010, to the famed Regattabar, located in the Charles Hotel, Harvard Square, Cambridge. Accompanied by pianist Brian Moll, double bassist Thomas Van Dyck played Kodály’s “Epigrams” and Bottesini’s “Concerto for Double Bass,” and baritone Anton Belov sang lively Russian folk songs. And a Longy Conservatory wind quintet mesmerized the audience with a breathtaking Piazzola tango.
